Czech Tour Receives Positive Assessment from the UCI

In its very first year in the prestigious UCI ProSeries category, Czech Tour has received a positive assessment from the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The successful running of the race and praise from the UCI Commissaire strengthen the organisers’ ambition to apply for a place in the top tier of world cycling in two years’ time.

The UCI Commissaire praised the overall organisation, high safety standards, promotion, team accommodation, spectator numbers, chosen routes and TV production. “I am delighted with the UCI’s assessment. It is a reward for the tremendous efforts of our team and partners. At the same time, it commits us to raising the bar even further so that we can apply for a WorldTour licence in 2028 and make our debut in the elite category in 2029,” said race president Robert Kolář.

The assessment highlighted Czech Tour’s high organisational standards and confirmed that the transition to the higher UCI ProSeries category had been successful. Particular praise was given to the comprehensive security measures along the course, supported by a large police and race-marshalling presence, as well as the exemplary handling of logistics, team accommodation and coordination of the entire organisational team led by race director Leopold König.

“The enthusiastic reactions from team managers and representatives after this year’s edition were hugely rewarding. I am extremely pleased that we delivered an excellent race both in sporting and organisational terms, and that we continue to attract more and more fans who come out to cheer along the route,” added König.

The race also received positive feedback for the fantastic atmosphere created by spectators in the start and finish towns. The TV production also ran smoothly, providing daily live coverage of the final 90 minutes of each stage on Czech Television, Eurosport and TNT Sports.

We would like to thank all the teams, riders, fans, organisers, municipalities, partners, volunteers and everyone else who contributed to this year’s edition.
