Stage 1
Prostějov (T. G. Masaryk Sq) - Ostrava (Masaryk Square)

Date: 25.7.2024
Start of the race: 13:00
Presumed end: 16:30 - 16:51
Stage length: 151.2 km
Ascended altitude meters: 1,418 m

A warm-up stage that is not too long and doesn't have too many vertical metres. It is very likely that the main field will stay together and it will come down to a sprint finish. We dare say this will be the only chance for the sprinters, as the next stages will not offer such an easy finish.

Start:

Prostějov (T. G. Masaryk Sq)

An elegant city of poetic festivals with a castle, several churches and two town halls: the old Renaissance one and the new one with a clock and a 66-metre high tower - this is Prostějov. Thanks to its location in the plains of Haná, it is ideal for cycling; it is also convenient to reach the Plumlov Dam recreation area.

Finish:

Ostrava (Masaryk Square)

Ostrava is a regional and university town in the Moravian-Silesian Region and is located at the confluence of the rivers Odra, Opava, Ostravice and Lucina. Ostrava is the third largest city in the Czech Republic and grew as an industrial centre of the coal basin. The mining and metallurgical industry was suppressed after 1989, and a witness to the mining past is the Lower Vítkovice area, a former industrial complex with a unique set of industrial architecture aspiring to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ostrava is home to a number of theatres, galleries and cultural houses.
